The Only Way Out Is Through

This book is a collection of poems and paintings from the artist Jonathas Nazareth.
Playing with typography in poetry is a challenge, but fun work. The typeface, placement of the words, kerning, and leading can change all the meaning of a poem.

The poems were combined with the paintings and the typographical part of the book composition were inspired by each one of the paintings.

From the artist’s paintings an alphabet and a string of number were taken and used to compose the book to give, this way, more personality to its content. The numbers and letters were used on the Index page and on the first digit of every poem’s name.
